Looking for a Sellix alternative? Here is what changes when your store is also the seller of record
Skalp is a store for digital goods like Sellix: you list products, share a link, and buyers get files or license keys the moment they pay. The difference is who makes the sale. On Skalp, Skalp is the merchant of record, so VAT, invoices, refunds and chargebacks are ours to handle, not yours.
The short answer
If you sell software, license keys, game assets or other digital goods and you want card plus crypto checkout without registering for VAT in every country, Skalp covers the same ground as Sellix and takes the tax and dispute work off you. Opening a store is free. You pay 10% per sale, or 7% once your sales over the last 30 days pass $20,000. Payment processing is included and there is no monthly fee.
Gateway storefront vs merchant of record
Most storefronts in this space work as a gateway: the checkout runs on payment accounts you connect, so the sale is legally yours. That is flexible, but it means the tax registration, the invoices and the fight with the bank when a buyer files a chargeback all land on you. A merchant of record sells the product to the buyer in its own name and pays you your share.
| Gateway-style storefront | Skalp |
| Who sells to the buyer | You | Skalp, as seller of record |
| VAT and GST | Yours to register, collect and file | Collected at checkout, reported under EU OSS by Skalp |
| Invoices | You issue them | Issued by Skalp for every order |
| Chargebacks and disputes | Between you, the buyer and your processor | Handled by Skalp's team |
| Payment accounts | You connect and keep them in good standing | None needed, processing is included |
What carries over from Sellix
- Card and crypto checkout. Buyers pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, their local method or crypto, with 3D Secure on card payments.
- Instant delivery. Files and license keys reach the buyer as soon as the payment lands.
- License keys two ways. Paste your own pool of keys or serials, or let Skalp generate a unique key per sale and check it from your app through the API. How both work.
- Coupons, bundles and flash sales. Percent or fixed discounts, per product or store-wide, with an end time.
- Subscriptions and gifts. Recurring products, and orders a buyer can send to someone else.
- Webhooks and an API. Every order reaches your backend, plus a typed SDK for Node and Go.
- Discord roles. Map a product to a role and it is assigned on purchase.
What you get on top
- A storefront and checkout that switch to the buyer's language, with prices in your store currency and the right tax added for their country.
- A listing on skalp.gg/marketplace, searchable by category next to other stores.
- Payouts on request to a bank account in 40+ countries or to a USDT wallet, after a 7-day clearance.
- Optional obfuscation for Lua scripts, turned on per file at upload. Buyers get the protected build and you keep the original.
Moving your store over
- Open a store at skalp.gg and finish the seller verification.
- Recreate your products. For key products, paste your remaining key stock into the key pool so nothing is sold twice.
- Point your domain at the store if you use one. Skalp verifies it with a DNS TXT record.
- Swap your old webhook endpoint for Skalp's, or install the SDK.
- Update the links in your Discord, bio and website.
Questions people ask
Is Skalp cheaper than Sellix?
Compare the total, not the headline rate. Skalp's 10% (7% above $20,000 in 30 days) already includes payment processing, VAT handling, invoices and chargeback handling. On a gateway platform those costs come from your processor, your accountant and your time.
Can I accept crypto on Skalp?
Yes. Crypto sits next to card and local payment methods at checkout, and you can take payouts in USDT.
Do I need my own Stripe or PayPal account?
No. Skalp processes the payment as the seller of record and pays out your share.
What can I sell?
Software, license keys, game assets and scripts, e-books and guides, graphics, memberships and services.
